History of the ship

'Tempo' lying dry at the 'Wadden' near Schiermonnikoog

"Tempo" is the original name of the ship, built in 1930 by the brothers Coops to Hoogezand, Groningen. The ship was built with dimensions 31.50m. at 5.40m. 2:04 m and depth. Around 1960, the ship has undergone an impressive change. The ship, that has always sailed to the German Wadden Sea and the Baltic Sea, is then adapted to the requirements of seafaring cargo-vessels under classification of the Germanischer Lloyds.

Since the renovation, the "Tempo" dimensions 39.85 at 5:40 and depth 2.44. This adjustment is not done at the expense of the beauty of the ship, on the contrary: it is aesthetically beautifully done and mostly still riveted. At the same time a new magnicifent engine, A Deutz 428 (150 pk) at 600 cycl. is then placed.

It makes the 'Tempo' is a clear example of the development of seagoing cargoships in Groningen and North Germany, a unique piece of history of the Dutch shipping.
